Wiz Khalifa’s real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz. He adopted the stage name “Khalifa” which means “successor” in Arabic, and “Wiz” is short for wisdom. He started writing his own lyrics at the age of nine and recorded his first mix tape when he was just 16.

Wiz Khalifa is a “military brat,” as his parents were in the military. He lived in various places around the world during his childhood, including Germany, the UK, and Japan, before settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

His song “Black and Yellow” was his first major hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2011. The song is a tribute to Pittsburgh, his hometown, referencing the colors of the city’s sports teams. Wiz Khalifa is well-known for his advocacy and use of cannabis. He even has his own line of marijuana products called “Khalifa Kush.”

Beyond music, he has ventured into various businesses, including a clothing line, a mobile app game called “Wiz Khalifa’s Weed Farm,” and partnerships with brands like Converse and RAW Rolling Papers. Wiz Khalifa has made appearances in movies and TV shows. He had a role in the movie “Mac & Devin Go to High School” alongside Snoop Dogg and has appeared on shows like “American Dad!” and “Ridiculousness.”

He has won numerous awards throughout his career, including multiple BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and a Grammy nomination for his hit song “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth, which was part of the “Furious 7” soundtrack. Wiz Khalifa is known for his extensive collection of tattoos. He got his first tattoo at the age of 16 and has continued to add to his body art over the years.
