Over the weekend I was invited out by Warner Bros to check out an advance screening and press junket for the upcoming film Wonder Woman in Hollywood! Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved Wonder Woman and would act out different scenes from watching it on television. Yes, I grew up with this iconic superhero and was delighted to learn that they were doing a brand new movie. Once I arrived at the press junket, I was pleasantly surprised to see many of the costumes on display from the movie. It was like walking through an art exhibit, each costume better than the last, I really enjoyed touching and feeling the fabrics which were mainly made of leather, fur and metal.
I also learned that Costume Designer Lindy Hemming said that since Wonder Woman is immortal they also wanted to make her strong, fierce and a bit sexy. The costumes were inspired by metal armor of Greek and Roman warriors and gladiators.
I was fortunate to get a Wonder Woman tiara at the junket and will cherish forever but the one that Wonder Woman wore in the movie is preferred to as a “headdress” it sounds a bit more tougher lol. It’s a classic five-pointed gold star. They also used the WW logo on the belt, gauntlets and across the breastplate. Her thigh high boots were armor as well, to help protect her in battles.
When Wonder Woman was herself Diana Prince, she was very soft and feminine. In the movie she is very witty, smart and educated. This blue gown was inspired by her Grecian background.

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
