She has appeared in various television series including “Gossip Girl,” “The Game,” and “Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots.” Sumpter has appeared in numerous films such as “Stomp the Yard: Homecoming,” “Sparkle,” “Ride Along,” and “Southside with You,” where she portrayed Michelle Obama.
She also works as a producer, notably for the film “Southside with You,” which she also starred in. Tika is known for her activism and advocacy on issues like diversity in Hollywood and women’s rights. She has a daughter named Ella-Loren, born in 2016, with her husband Nicholas James.
