Wanda Sykes Says She Has Been Mistaken For Lenny Kravitz

“The Upshaws” and“Please & Thank You” comedy tour actress and comedian Wanda Sykes visits “The Jennifer Hudson Show” airing Wednesday, May 15.  Wanda tells Jennifer what it’s like being mistaken for Lenny Kravitz and offers her take on the viral video of the musician working out. The comedian also opens up about getting recognized in public and why she loves flying first class.

Wanda Sykes was born on March 7, 1964, in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA. Before pursuing comedy full-time, she worked as a procurement officer for the National Security Agency. She gained national recognition for her work as a writer and performer on “The Chris Rock Show” in the late 1990s. Sykes has won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for her writing on “The Chris Rock Show” and her HBO comedy specials.

In addition to her stand-up comedy, she’s had a successful acting career, appearing in numerous films and TV shows.Sykes is openly gay and often incorporates her experiences as a lesbian woman into her comedy.
She’s known for her sharp wit, observational humor, and fearless commentary on social and political issues.
