Tish and I
I didn’t make it home this year for Thanksgiving and my kids were bummed out about it but I told them I would try hard to make it up to Ohio for Christmas. So instead we were invited out to have Thanksgiving with friends here in Atlanta.
Jello kept us entertained with a selection
The kiddies
I always have to stop by my girl’s house Tish for her Momma Nene’s food! This is the best cook in the south and reminds me soo much of home. My mom was never a good cook but other family members would make great feasts. As I got older, I never really liked to cook Thanksgiving meals because it was a lot of work and it’s so heavy. If I can bring one dish, that was fine with me, but just can’t see slaving in the kitchen and watching football, not my idea of a great holiday.Tish’s mom NeNe made a great spread and I loove her mom’s cornbread! They set everything up buffet style and you just dig right in. We said grace and then got to talk and meet everyone. There is always a new friend that stops by the Deshield’s home.
We had to then scoot for dinner over at The Hartwells. We always have a great time time with their family because Lisa & Ed are a hoot and they’re also party folks lol. Lisa makes sure everyone is comfy, full and has a glass of wine! lol
This year Andre(Lisa’s brother) had some great stories about an upcoming book he hopes to get published, all the women were in awh! lol I’m so blessed to have two extended families here in the south and I love them both so dearly! Enjoy the pics and I hope you guys didn’t eat too much turkey, gobble gobble!
