I had the pleasure of checking out an advance screening of a very good film last week called, Death On A Nile. It stars Gal Gadot as Linnet Ridgeway and Armie Hammer as Simon Doyle. A mystery-thriller directed by Kenneth Branagh based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel. If you love a good mystery then this is one film you should definitely head out to see! I’m such a hopeless romantic by nature, so this film really resonated with me!
Not only is it shot beautifully in an epic landscape of sweeping desert at the Cotswold Water Park Nature Reserve New Swindon, other locations used were absolutely stunning as well! I enjoyed seeing the Old Cataract Aswan grand Nile hotel where the cast assembled and departed for their voyage. For these location shots, they were in Aswan, Egypt!
I thought the array of cast members were amazing and the movie flowed extremely well. The storyline was easy to follow and the suspense has you on the edge of your seat. Oh, did I mention the impeccable 30’s glamour costuming? My word the cast wore some of the finest fashions styled by two-timed Oscar winner, Paco Delgado. He said in a recent interview that he pulled his inspiration from looking at old Paris Vogue magazines, fashion museums and vintage shops. One of his all-time favorite looks from the movie was dressing Gal Gadot in her wedding gown.
Another key note is the incomparable 128-carat Tiffany Diamond necklace worn by Gal! That necklace stole the show!
The Tiffany Diamond, a rare fancy yellow diamond, was unearthed in 1877 as a 287.42-carat rough diamond from the Kimberley mines of South Africa and procured by Charles Lewis Tiffany. In 1878, the rough diamond was cut in Paris into a 128.54-carat cushion-shape brilliant with an unprecedented 82 facets, revealing thes stone’s extraordinary fire and beauty.
In honor of my favorite holiday that is coming up, Valentine’s Day, I have pulled together ten of the best love quotes from the film and I hope you enjoy! Don’t forget Death of the Nile hits theaters on Friday, February 11th, it’s definitely a must-see for sure!

Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.
