Sherri Shepherd got emotional and teared up while discussing the two-year renewal of “SHERRI,” which was announced yesterday. The #1 new nationally-syndicated talk show has been renewed through 2024-2025.

Sherri gets emotional about the “SHERRI” renewal: “I’m so excited about the two years. That’s 24 months. And that’s a big deal to get a two-year renewal. Jawn [SHERRI EP], we’ve been through a lot in this journey of what we wanted to do and accomplish and the fact that it’s happening … I get emotional. For those of you who feel like, ‘nobody is seeing me, nobody is hearing me, but I have so much to give,’ God has not forgotten about you … and I have to say it gets greater later. The fact that this didn’t happen for more than 18 years, that God waited to give it to me in my 50s. So, I’m just here to say to you, if you think the dream has died, don’t let it go because you have so much to offer.”
Sherri gets a call from Oprah: “And one other quick story. I got a phone call from Oprah. And this is what Oprah says to me, ‘Congratulations. You’ve done it. You’ve proved that you’re funny. That you’re bringing laughter and that the show is joy.’ And then she goes, ‘So, what are you doing next?’, and I said, ‘I’m going to prove that I’m funny and that the show is light and I’m bringing joy.’ And she said, ‘Now where do you go? You need to elevate.’ And I was like, ‘Well, maybe we’ll change the chair color, Oprah.’ And I was like [says jokingly], ‘it’s too much. Just let me cry.’” She went on, “So I want to thank Ms. Oprah Winfrey for encouraging me and giving me so much advice.”
