Red Carpet Rundown: Young Wild Free Premiere In Hollywood

BET+ celebrated the premiere of the new BET+ Original film, YOUNG.WILD. FREE., with the dynamic cast last night at the staple DGA Theater in Hollywood. Directed by Thembi L. Banks, the official Sundance selection premieres on Thursday, June 27, exclusively on BET+.

Cast members Algee Smith (“Brandon Huffman”), Sierra Capri (“Cassidy”), Sanaa Lathan (“Janice Huffman”), Jeremiah King (“Trey Huffman”), Isa Eden (“Clara Huffman”), Tamala Jones (“Ms. McCleary”), and director Thembi Banks were in attendance for the premiere celebration.

Other notable guests included: Emmy-award winner Lena Waithe, DomiNque Perry (Diarra from Detroit), NBA great Baron Davis, J Marques Johnson, Don Benjamin, Alex Isley, and Chaundre Hall-Broomfield (Kingdom Business).

Opening remarks were given by the film’s director Thembi L. Banks, and she was joined on stage by cast members Sanaa Lathan, Algee Smith, Sierra Capri, and executive producers Tommy Oliver, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks to speak about the film’s impact around important themes that resonate today.  

Attendees were able to get customized tooth gems, compliments of LA-based Zero Below Grillz, and a portrait studio activation with remnants of the film.

For the reception, guests were treated to an open bar and various hors d’oeuvres, while dancing the night away to the sounds provided by DJ Tendaji Lathan, brother of cast member Sanaa Lathan.  See more inside…
