Red Carpet Rundown: ‘Moana 2’ London Premiere

Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson joined filmmakers, songwriters and special guests last night at Cineworld Leicester Square in London, to celebrate the U.K. premiere of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana 2.” Also last night, the London skies above the iconic O2 were lit up with a spectacular Moana-themed drone show choreographed to three tracks from the all-new film soundtrack, including “Beyond,” “We’re Back” and “Can I Get A Chee Hoo?”  Event images from last night’s festivities are now available.

Joining Cravalho (voice of Moana) and Johnson (voice of Maui) were directors Jason Hand, Dana Ledoux Miller and David G. Derrick Jr., and producer Christina Chen. Songwriters Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear were also on hand to greet fans and celebrate the new movie. See more of all the fun inside…

Opening only in theaters this Wednesday, Nov. 27, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ epic animated musical “Moana 2” reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. The voice cast also includes Hualālai Chung as Moni, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea, Temuera Morrison as Chief Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Rachel House as Gramma Tala, Gerald Faitala Ramsey as Tautai Vasa, and Alan Tudyk as Heihei. Directed by Jason Hand, Dana Ledoux Miller and David G. Derrick Jr., and produced by Yvett Merino and Christina Chen, “Moana 2” features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. Jared Bush and Miller wrote the screenplay for the film, which is executive produced by Jennifer Lee, Bush and Johnson.
