Big names in unscripted television came out on Thursday, August 8th to celebrate the premiere of the highly-anticipated We TV original series,The Braxtons, for a pre-reception and invite-only screening at the Westside Cultural Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The red carpet was bustling with series stars Tamar Braxton, Trina Braxton, Towanda Braxton, and Ms. Evelyn Braxton, along with special guests Gocha Hawkins (Bold & Bougie and LA Hair), WSB-TV anchor Jonathan Martin, Arrington Foster (BET’s Family Business) and Elijah Connor (Grown & Gospel).
Eager to see the next chapter of the Braxton family’s journey, a standing room only crowd was welcomed with an introduction by Trina and Towanda Braxton, followed by a special advance screening of the premiere episode of The Braxtons. Trina, Towanda, Tamar and Ms. Evelyn Braxton, together in the front row, enjoyed revisiting moments presented throughout the episode alongside a captivated audience.
After a three-year hiatus, the Braxton sisters, and their mother, are back on reality television– and on WE tv— for a new series.
Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Ms. Evelyn reunite to share new love, success, heartbreak, ongoing family dynamics and so much more in The Braxtons. Viewers will pick up where they left off: sharing their combined rollercoaster journey from the last few years to the family’s present triumphs, marred by the passing of their beloved sister, Traci. According to the family, it was Traci’s final wish to return to the show, and fans will see some of her last moments.
Tamar will address her contentious exit from the original series, Braxton Family Vlaues, as she previously swore of docu-style reality shows and blamed the network for her estrangement from her family and the public’s mixed emotions about her.
As Toni preps for her Las Vegas residency with comedian Cedric The Entertainer, Trina focuses on food and family, and Towanda takes the movie world by storm from behind the camera.
Old wounds may re-open, but the sisters and their mom vow this time, reality television won’t tear them apart. The Braxtons is set to premiere this August.
