Last night, Footwear News, the bible of the shoe industry, celebrated the 36th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards (FNAAs) at Cipriani South Street in New York City. For 36 years, the FNAAs— often called the Shoe Oscars — have recognized the most influential names in shoes, with honorees comprised of the hit makers, style stars, best brand stories, ardent philanthropists, emerging talents, and industry legends in footwear today.
“It’s a room like no other. Award shows come and go, but the FNAAs hold a special place in the honors orbit,” said Michael Atmore, Editorial Director of FN and Chief Brand Officer of Fairchild Media Group. “The FNAAs straddle the line between an exclusive, industry insider event and a showcase for the shoe-loving world of celebrity and consumerism.”
At tonight’s event, Christian Louboutin received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Idris Elba. Blake Lively gave a surprise heartfelt video tribute to the red sole king.
Michael Atmore presented the inaugural Collection of the Year award to Dua Lipa and longtime Puma collaborator, songwriter and designer Billy Walsh for their Puma x Dua Lipa Flutur Drop 2 collection.
Nelly and Fergie reunited to toast Caleres CEO and Hall of Fame honoree Diane Sullivan.
Jordan Brand celebrated Brand of the Year honor with Carmelo Anthony, Fabolous, Jasmine Jordan, CC Sabathia, and Aerial Powers all in the room. See all the photos inside…
