Today I had a fun filled day checking out Celebrity Stylist Shun Melson‘s workshop called, How to Dress Your Body Type Fashunably! Lord knows this class should have been standing room only because I see a lot of misses when out in the street. Shun taught the ladies at the workshop so many things and I jotted down notes for you because I know so many of my readers are not located in Atlanta and I wanted to share the wealth of knowledge that I learned from her as well. Currently Shun styles, Ledesi, Phaedra Parks, Kim Zolciak and the list goes on and on.
We learned how to shop and what stores to buy for our body types, proper undergarments that I even talked about a few weeks ago, then later her students got a chance to get makeovers and demonstrate how they would look with a new hairdo, makeup and the right outfits for their body type! Check out all the details inside!
During the workshop, I learned so much and here are a few things that I wanted to share with you! Get your pen out and notepad to take down these notes!
Make sure you are dressing for your age
Go out and try things on, mix up buying high and low pieces. Shun is a huge fan of mixing brands and prices.
If you are really tall and can’t ever find shirts or skirts, pants long enough, check out Long Tall Sally
Invest in really good handbags and shoes. They can make your outfit look really expensive, even if its not.
Keep a fresh white button up blouse in your closet. Wash in cold water and press. Do not take white tops to the cleaners because the chemicals used make them yellow.
Always keep a black blazer in your closet
Every girl needs a good pair of black leggings. Michael Kors and Calvin Klein ones work best for plus size girls and Zara, Asos, TopShop are great for regular size girls
Invest in a good black leather jacket be it bomber, blazer or jacket style.
Consignment stores and discounted stores are great places to find luxury handbags and shoes.
Invest in a good shaper and at least two bras. Get measured for the correct bra size.
Wash and hang bras. Do not put in the dryer.
Boyfriend jeans are a great staple to have in your closet.
Wardrobe staples you should have in your closet
Shun said you need to have a pair of black & nude pumps in your closet
