Actor and comedian Flex Alexander (One on One) and ’90s pop sensation Shanice were our favorite celebs back in the day! Once big time stars, the couple got hitched back in 2000 and now have two children, a daughter Imani (13), and a son Elijah (10). Now that the shine has fizzled out on both of their careers, they are left with financial woes and so much more! Now they are back with a second season with their hit reality show!
No longer hiding their money problems from the world, their reality tv show Flex & Shanice will follow the couple as they try to get back on track. Flex will be attempting to rebuild his stand-up career after 18 years, and Shanice will be back in the studio. It will be airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network, premiering Saturday, November 1 at 10 pm.
“Me and wifey, we went through it y’all. We was ballin’, making 1.5, 1.7 million a year, just balling and then just [makes car screech noise] boom! Somebody cut the lights out!
I’m going to tell you what’s really embarrassing? Filing bankruptcy. The funny thing is me and wifey go down there and wifey she’s like ‘I don’t want to do this…’ I’m like ‘baby, we gotta do it. Donald Trump did it 12 times.’ Went in there and we’re like ‘Lord please don’t see no Black people because they’re going to know who we are!’”
About The Show:
Most people know 90s pop sensation Shanice for her Grammy-nominated hit song, “I Love Your Smile” and actor Flex Alexander from his hit TV show, “One on One,” but few people know this fairytale couple both faced career stumbling blocks and quickly hit financial rock bottom. Flex and Shanice realized that they needed to take their wedding vow “for richer or poorer” to heart, so with their two adorable kids, 12-year-old Imani and 10-year-old Elijah, in tow, they moved into a rental home and brought their hilarious extended family into the mix to help cover the cost. A total of nine people, including Shanice’s “momager” Crystal, make this truly a full house where anyone’s business becomes everyone’s business.
Financially things are starting to look up for Flex and Shanice. Flex has booked some gigs and confides with fellow comedian and OWN star Kym Whitley on career next steps. Shanice is getting back in the recording studio, but when new gossip surfaces that her mom might have been the reason for her career troubles, Shanice turns to her former producer Babyface for advice and is forced to take a hard look at their relationship. Meanwhile Flex is faced with a major parental crisis as his daughter transitions to womanhood.

It’s cool to see what Flex & Shanice have been up to over the years. I feel that Flex&Shanice is one of the few positive Reality Shows since Run’s House. The Braxton’s Family Values is another good one. Great Show!
