I remember meeting the 13-time Grammy winner Pharrell Williams in Atlanta a few years back. I was at Atlanta Hartsfield airport when I spotted a familiar face! Yep, it was Pharrell stylish as ever just walking in the airport headed to the train to connect to his gate. We boarded the train together and I stood by him. At first I was a bit hesitant to say hello, then I thought to myself, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so why not just say hello! Pharrell was very sweet and I said hi to him and he was very humble and said hi back! He didn’t say much but gave me a glimpse in a friendly manner. Thats when I felt like it was ok to ask him for a photo.
Ofcourse I didn’t have a photographer with me but I had my camera in my bag because I was headed to Los Angeles for a red carpet event. So I go fumbling in my bag to dig out my huge camera. He just patiently waited while I got the settings right on my camera then I asked a passenger could they snap the photo for me, with a few instructions. There was Pharrell patiently waiting all that time, then we finally took this pictures! I will never forget that moment in time, he was so nice! Now look at him lol! He’s now the Creative Director for Louis Vuitton Menswear line and I feel like a proud mom (I’m only five years older than him but still you get the point lol).
The Men’s Spring-Summer 2024 Show was spectacular and its all over the news and internet today! Presented to a soundtrack produced by Pharrell, the debut show from the Men’s Creative Director featured a myriad of vivid hues and captivating motifs, exalting the emblems of the Maison. He’s the successor to the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh. I enjoyed watching the show and I didn’t see one look that was bad!
The collection was dope, the colors, designs, patterns, handbags, shoes, accessories and more! He brought out a star-studded crowd too with folks like Beyonce and Jay Z, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Jared Leto, Naomi Campbell, Willow and Jaden Smith, Tyler the Creator and so many more! The runway show was held near the Musee D’Orsay a museum in Paris, France. One eye catching piece from the collection that stood out was the red varsity jacket with prints of Pont Neuf with crystals that was a resemblance of his high school jacket.
The show closed with the Voices of Fire gospel choir that chanted Joy, Joy, Joy! They were a Virginia-based choir from his hometown. They received a standing ovation! It was extremely well received and I have the video of the show inside, GREAT job Pharrell!
