My Style: Sergio Hudson x Target Collection

A few posts back, I made mention that my friend and fashion designer Sergio Hudson came out with a collaboration for Target! Well, it launched over the weekend and I was super excited to try it out! I was a bit antsy though because I was traveling to my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. I was nervous that they wouldn’t have a lot of the collection in store but once we arrived to Target on Sunday morning, it was tons of options, I was so happy! In Sergio’s collection for Target he offers, dresses, high slit skirts, coats, blouses, pants and accessories.

I picked out a fancy cut-out jumpsuit, satin blouse, wide-leg pants and animal print trench coat! I got back to my bestie’s house and we got to styling up the pieces and headed outdoors for a few snaps of the looks. After reviewing a lot of the collection, everything was made pretty well, the fabrics didn’t feel or look cheap and if I was you, I would definitely go down a size because most items run big. My godmom is a seamstress and she was even impressed with the collection and the way everything was stitched.

Some items, like a few dresses and tops could have been tweaked a bit more but overall, it’s a solid collection. I’m not sure for the more conservative girls out there, if you would wear such bold and bright prints at the office but on the weekends out for brunch, events and parties, the collection would work just fine and you will definitely stand out in a crowd. I would be hesitant to wear the wide-leg pants (that I’m wearing) at the office too. Are these silhouettes suitable for the office environment? I don’t know but I did love all the colors.

The animal print blouse was my all-time favorite look, it feels great on the skin and can be worn so many ways. I liked the pieces from the collection and I felt like everything was reasonably priced. I spent a total of $220 on my outfits, not too bad and I plan on wearing the trench coat a lot.
