Good morning everyone! In my last post I talked about going to the annual Jeffrey Cares Fashion Show. It’s definitely a fashion show you want to attend and the clothing is AMAZEBALLS! This year the looks that hit the runway were breathtaking! I was at an event last weekend, when I got to meet singer Demetria McKinney’s Godmom Maria Harper. She has been a celebrity fashion designer/tailor for many years and we finally got to meet at Demetria’s birthday dinner.
She told me she really appreciated me blogging about her fashions over the years! She said, “if you ever need anything made, let me know!” Well, I knew that I had the Jeffrey Fashion Show coming up, so I asked her if she wasn’t too busy, I would love to have something created for that. We chatted back and forth over text and I sent her my measurements. She said, “Ok I will come up with something fantastic for you” and this is what she made for me! I was not expecting to wear red or a jumpsuit at all but she said that this is what she had in mind for me! I’m one of those type of girls that let people be as creative as they want to be and I was very pleased with the outcome!
Its a custom piece designed specifically for my body type and I’m so thrilled to have one of her pieces in my collection now. Maria has designed clothing for Tyler Perry Studios, many actresses and actors that you see on the big screen and more. She is currently making Steve Harvey’s daughter bridal dresses for her upcoming wedding. Maria says she is very low key and just wants to make beautiful clothing. She first started sewing at the ripe ol age of 8 yrs old and is self taught and never been to design school either. Check out more pics of my look inside. Maria is revamping her website but you can follow and reach out to her via Instagram! Thanks Maria for my lovely outfit, I will cherish it FOREVER! xoxo
My jumpsuit can be worn many ways with detachable cape
