I had a chance to check out a private screening of The Color Purple a few weeks back and I got the opportunity to meet Oscar Winner Louis Gossett Jr. You may remember him in many roles but everyone remembers him from his role as Fiddler in Roots and also in An Officer and a Gentleman where he won for Best Supporting Actor in 1983!

Gossett plays Mister’s Dad in the new film and he was a delight to chat with! I loved the movie, the singing and Fantasia gave a stellar performance and I suggest you head to the movie and see for yourself, its extremely well-written with lots of talented people!
