Last Saturaday I thought President Obama was in town, the way police in Lithonia Walmart was securing the area lol. People were everywhere lined up to get a glimpse of Tina Knowles and her new women’s collection at Walmart. I was thinking with all that money she hired for security (because it was atleast 8 cops) she could have used that for a better location lol. Something was wrong with that picture lol.
I was 5 minutes late from actually seeing her because of all the traffic but from what I seen in the store, I didn’t miss much. The stage was still set up and one officer told us that she had just left. Me and my girlfriend Lori walked over to the section where her line was and we just looked at each other. We both said, “what was all the hype about?”
Yup, the clothing looked like it would be right in Walmart too. Very cheaply made and if you put in in the washing machine…well you know the rest lol. I never really have nothing negative to say on my reviews but I would have rather seen her put her clothing line in a Target or JcPenney. I would have liked her to have had a better thought process of style, fabric choices and location. She also did the unveiling in a hood Walmart, who does that? I guess she knows the demographics of people who would actually buy her brand but I will not be one of them. I will say that I did like the wrap dress that was in black, that gathered on the sides. It was $18. The leopard print dress that Tina has on in the picture, looks cute on her but in person it’s a hot mess.
I know she is employing folks, giving fashion to curvier females and all that jazz but I just didn’t like the fabric choices/styles of the shirts, jogging suits and sweaters. People have also said to me,well it’s all under 20.00. Yes that’s true but I believe in quality and I could do better with my thrift store finds that are usually better made. I wish this mompreneur well but I really was disappointed in the collection.
