The 13th annual McDonald’s 365Black Awards just wrapped up at the ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans and it was a great affair! The Awards, which honored celebrities, including Grammy Award-winning artist Toni Braxton, NFL cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman and award-winning actress Wendy Raquel Robinson.
Hosted by actor Lance Gross and actress/singer Amber Riley, the Awards brought together notable celebrities, community leaders and influencers to honor a group of people making positive change in their various communities.
Singing siblings and reality television co-stars The Braxton Sisters performed a show-stopping surprise tribute to their sister, Lifetime Achievement honoree, Toni Braxton. Other award winners included educator and historian Lonnie Bunch, teen philanthropist Lauren Seroyer and teen social-entrepreneur, Donovan Smith. The awards were presented by actors Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha), Cornelius Smith Jr. (Scandal), Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse), Ta’Rhonda Jones (Empire), and Ronreaco Lee (Survivor’s Remorse), among others.
In addition, singers Chrisette Michele, Kelly Price, Kenny Lattimore, Canton Jones and V. Bozeman were among the artists delivering stellar performances.
