Yesterday afternoon I got a text from my friend and blogger buddy Jennifer. She asked me what I was doing and I was actually snuggled up with my grandbaby but not doing much else. She asked me if I would like to go out to have a bit of fun and food to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and I was surely down for it! We went to a local restaurant that was close to both of us in downtown Lawrenceville, right on the Square. It’s called McCray’s Tavern and I had never heard of it but it looked fun! Lots of patrons were dressed in all green and were exiting and entering when we arrived.
I have been living in the City of Lawrenceville, since 2005 but never remember visiting this tavern but was happy to try! We entered, gave our names and it was about a 20 minute wait. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather then we got a buzz that our table was ready. The restaurant is extremely clean, fun looking equipped with a full bar and they serve American Tavern with a very diverse menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. They also have a private room for parties and lots of flat screen tv’s throughout the space. Once we placed our orders with our friendly waitress, we munched on a huge pretzel that was so delicious, omg!
I ordered the fish n chips and so did Jen. The food came out pretty quickly and the proportions were HUGE! I had enough to take home for later and the presentation was nice. Very seasoned and yummy and I would definitely recommend you stop in if you’re in the area or plan on visiting, very friendly atmosphere to meet up with friends or take the family. Till next time! xoxo
