Martin Lawrence On Crazy Rumors About Him, Earthquakes, Going on Tour & Filming Bad Boys Ride or Die

Actor and Comedian Martin Lawrence hung out with Jimmy Kimmel the other night! He talked about the earthquake they had in LA that morning, what he was up to do during the Northridge earthquake in 1994, filming Bad Boys Ride or Die, Detroit dedicating a day to him, meeting fans, crazy rumors about him, his new comedy tour Ya’ll Know What It Is, his daughters seeing his shows, hecklers, and his relationship with the late great James Earl Jones.

I had the pleasure of meeting Martin at a Disney event in Los Angeles a few years back. I saw him just hanging out at a table during a reception and I did a double take and said to myself, that is not Martin Lawrence lol. Sure, enough it was him and I politely went over to him and struck up a conversation. It was so random, but he was very nice! I will never forget that, and we took a photo together.

Martin has had a diverse and successful career in film and television. Here are five of his most popular and influential movies:

  1. Bad Boys (1995) – A classic action-comedy where Lawrence stars alongside Will Smith as two Miami detectives. The film was a major hit and led to successful sequels.
  2. Big Momma’s House (2000) – Lawrence plays an undercover FBI agent who disguises himself as an elderly woman to solve a crime. The film was a commercial success and showcased Lawrence’s comedic talent.
  3. Blue Streak (1999) – In this comedy, Lawrence plays a thief who hides a stolen diamond in a police station and later poses as a cop to retrieve it. The film blends action and humor effectively.
  4. Life (1999) – Starring alongside Eddie Murphy, Lawrence plays a wrongfully convicted man serving a life sentence. The film is a blend of drama and comedy and highlights Lawrence’s range as an actor.
  5. A Thin Line Between Love and Hate (1996) – In this romantic comedy, Lawrence plays a charming but deceptive man who finds himself in a complicated love triangle. It’s a good example of his comedic timing and ability to handle more nuanced roles.

These films reflect his versatility in both comedy and action, making him a memorable figure in Hollywood. See more photos inside and a video clip…
