You guys have got to hear this story! Yesterday at the Americas Mart gift show, I met the most incredible person! Lindsay Phillips is the creator of Switch Flops. When I walked into the showroom, it was huge. I introduced myself to one of the sales reps, who was on the floor selling like crazy. She pointed to a cute lil blonde but I was thinking to myself, nooo that can’t be the owner lol. Sure enough it was lol.

I was really expecting a much older, mature lady for some reason. I had seen Lindsay’s pics online but didn’t really look close. She was just as cute as she could be, with a warm spirit! She was very friendly and willing to take a few minutes out of her busy schedule to talk to me. She told me she created the switch flops in high school, as a school art project. This was in 2007 and a family member told her she should get it patent because it was a great idea. She did some research and the rest is history.

Later this Divapreneur and her mom traveled to China, found a interpreter, manufacturer and Switch Flops was born! She said she had no idea that it was going to take off like it did. She ordered 5,000 pairs and sold out of them quickly. Lindsay said she did have some challenges along the way though. Noone would take her idea serious and it was hard to get backing.
Lindsay showed me around the showroom and all the different lines she has. She even makes lil girl switch flops,reversable purses, 5 in one purses, scarfs, totes, ballet slippers, clogs and soo much more! Did I tell yah she is the ripe ol age of 25 too? She has won numerous awards, like the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010.Wow, now if this chica isn’t motivation for you guys, I don’t know! Lindsay has really made me want to step it up!
