Actress and Director Kim Fields sat down with Jimmy Kimmel a few days ago! I loved her as Tootie on Facts of Life, one of my favorite childhood tv shows! I learned to rollerskate because of her lol. She talked about her dad working at the show, being on “The Upshaws,” her album from the mid-eighties, a song called “Dear Michael” for Michael Jackson, sharing a kiss with Jason Bateman when they were teenagers, and she meets our writer Devin’s dad who happens to be named Kim Field.
Kim Fields gained fame for her role as Tootie Ramsey on the sitcom “The Facts of Life,” which aired from 1979 to 1988. She was just 9 years old when she began portraying Tootie. Fields made her directorial debut with the sitcom “Living Single,” directing several episodes of the show. She appeared on the reality television series “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in its eighth season. Fields has showcased her talents on Broadway, starring in productions such as “The Wiz” and “Grease.” She has authored a book titled “Blessed Life”. My Surprising Journey of Joy, Tears, and Tales from Harlem to Hollywood.
Fields has ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her own production company called Victory Entertainment. She comes from a family of entertainers; her mother, Chip Fields, is an actress and her sister, Alexis Fields, is also an actress. Fields has lent her voice to various animated series and films, including “The Magic School Bus” and “The Proud Family Movie.” These are just a few highlights from Kim Fields’ diverse career!
