Singer Katy Perry stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. She talked about playing Monopoly Draw against Usher, doing 80 shows in Vegas for her residency, her huge toilet set piece, her grandmother living in Las Vegas, singing at King Charles’ coronation, a viral video of her looking for her seat, the new season of American Idol on ABC, visiting Lionel Richie & Luke Bryan’s hometowns, and she revealed that this will be her last season.

Katy Perry’s real name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. She adopted the stage name Katy Perry to avoid confusion with the actress Kate Hudson. Katy grew up in a Christian household. Her parents were pastors, and she started her singing career by singing gospel music. Her first album wasn’t under the name Katy Perry. It was released in 2001 under her birth name, Katy Hudson, and was a gospel record.
“I Kissed a Girl” was the song that catapulted Katy Perry to international fame in 2008. The song was controversial but became a massive hit worldwide. Her album “Teenage Dream” made history by tying Michael Jackson’s record for most number-one singles from a single album. It produced five chart-topping singles.
