I couldn’t wait to get all gussied up to attend a fantastic benefit! It was for an International Holiday Celebration honoring Ambassador Andrew Young. The event was hosted by financial analyst Michael Varzi and his lovely wife Afrouz and Nasha Knowles & Rob Rumley. The event was sponsored by Dallas Austin and the proceeds from the ticket and silent auction benefitted Andrew Young’s Foundation.
The beautiful mansion that the event was held at was previously owned by actors Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker. As we walked up, the house was very elegantly decorated in holiday tradition. As I entered the foyer I was greeted by the coat check guys and they directed me to a cocktail area. There the waitresses walked around with serving platters of hors d’oeuvres with bar stations in the corners.

I mixed and mingled when a gentlemen made an announcement that a young lady would be singing Andrew Young’s fav song. A classical singer by the name of Tyler song a selection as everyone looked on.

I saw some fab outfits in the room and great shoes too! Ambassador Young’s wife Carolyn and I always discuss shoes and purses. She collects Mary Frances handbags and was carrying a new one I hadn’t seen before,too cute! I also met A lady named Mojy who told me she was wearing Manolo Blahnik’s and that they had a great story behind them. She said the shoe was made for Sarah Jessica Parker for the tv show Sex & The City. Well people wanted that shoe and the company made a few extra pairs. They sold out really fast. She met the shoe designer later on and told him she really wanted a pair but couldn’t find them anywhere. He made the shoes personally for her and shipped them to her! Wow that is so Pinktastic!

In another room of the house they had a cigar lounge set up. The guys were in there having a great conversation while I passed through. Shortly afterwards we made our way down stairs to bid on the silent auction items and where the catered food was being served. I saw a Justin Beiber autographed cd set up for auction, jewelry,paintings and golf clubs and more. A youngster was eyeing a autographed soccer ball, he really wanted that lol.

Dallas Austin arrived and Chris Tucker. I chatted with Chris about how great he looked. I said, you must have a movie coming out? He looked at me and said, I can’t tell you my upcoming projects, but I am working on a few things but couldn’t look me in the eye smiling lol. He asked how my daughter was doing because she use to interview him yearly at his Christmas parties.

Singer Rain then sang a song and then Andrew Young thanked everyone for coming out. It was a very classy event and I met soo many people that I’ve never seen before. I’m sure Ambassador Young raised lots of money for his foundation and I will give you guys an update later. I would like to thank Diane Larche from Larche Communications for the personal invite!
