Have you guys been watching BET’s drama series Being Mary Jane? Well if you haven’t watched it, you will have to catch up because the new season begins in January! I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Gabrielle Union while she made her press rounds here in Atlanta! She was such a hoot to talk to and it was good to catch up with her! We chatted about the new season, fashion and more!
She says the new season starts with Mary Jane stealing sperm, and for those of you who watch, you should know what she is talking about lol. We then talked about Ruth Carter being the wardrobe designer and how they incorporate low and high end fashions in the show. They mix it up with high & low brands like Zara and H&M, Miu Miu and D&G. Then they also like working with ethnic designers as well like Rachel Roy. By the way, Gabby was wearing a cute D&G blue lace dress with Casadei gold pumps during the interview. We closed it out with her talking about why she chose to take the role of Mary Jane. She stated that the script was full of dramatics, it’s funny and the character is very vulnerable, all she was looking for in a project plus she loves the writer and creator Mara Brock Akil.
