I was supposed to take my grandson to see an advance screening of Minions: The Rise of Gru but it was a bad storm by me, so I couldn’t make it but it seems like everyone else across the country stopped in movie theaters to check it out! Checked it out so much that it grossed over $200 million, it even beat out Tom Cruise movie, Maverick, can you believe it?
After Covid, I guess people are starting to head back to the theaters which is a good thing! The hashtag #Gentleminions was used from the film that took over TikTok this weekend showing teens dressed up in “suits” in large groups in theaters to influence people to see it lol. In some countries they were banned, lawd! I have inside a few “funny quotes” from the movie and you can take your family to see it now in theaters everywhere!
- They are killing my mellow vibes.
- You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette.
- You seriously think a puny little child can be a super villain?
- My favorite villain is also my kidnapper?
- The password is: you’re no good.
- My mom will probably pay you to keep me.
- You are my favorite villain. I wouldn’t, couldn’t let you get eaten by crocodiles. Even though that would be cool to watch.
- My favorite villain is also my kidnapper?
- What’s with the costumes? Halloween was months ago. You look stupid.
- How does it feel to be beaten by a tiny little bug?
This summer, from the biggest animated franchise in history and global cultural phenomenon, comes the untold story of one 12-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain, in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Teeming with Illumination’s signature subversive humor, pop-culture sophistication, full-hearted emotion, bold music sensibility, and over-the-top action, Minions: The Rise of Gru is steered by the franchise’s original creators. The film is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborators Janet Healy and Chris Renaud and is directed by returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda (Despicable Me 3, Minions). The co-directors are Brad Ableson (The Simpsons) and Jonathan del Val (The Secret Life of Pets films).
