Hey guys, I had a complete blast attending this years Disney Dreamers Academy that takes place at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I usually try to find a dreamer that lives in my city to feature and connect with. During the event, I interview a special person and ask them what does it mean to be apart of this amazing experience! If you are not aware, Disney Dreamers Academy is a four-day event where each spring, 100 exceptional students arrive and get motivated, guided and learn skills to help them make their dreams come true!
To be eligible to attend, students must be high school students between the ages of 13 and 19 years old. They apply online and are individually selected. The program gets 1000’s of applicants but only 100 are selected each year.
This year I got to meet and shadow fellow Atlantan Pam Musungu from Acworth, Ga! She was such a gem, smart and bright with a wonderful personality! She is 16 years old and a sophomore at North Cobb High School International Studies Magnet Program. She dreams of being an Ob/Gyn and wants to attend Cornell University. She excels in science and social studies. Musungu also volunteers at the Georgia Aquarium in her free time. More inside…
Pam said she was researching online and was looking for something fun yet educational to do when she came across Disney Dreamers Academy.
She stated that every staff member, reps and media seemed to care with their time and dedication. She went on to say that she would have never had this opportunity. “I’ve been to Disney before but never like this”. I enjoyed experiencing the fast-pass too which was fun. I got to meet a lot of dreamers which I never would have met in my life before that shared with me so many other opportunities out there.
Changing gears, I asked Pam what was some of her favorite Disney movies and she said, Disney’s Tangled and Wrecked Ralph. I hope her dreams come true, she definitely has the mindset to be anything she wants to be, blessings to her!
