Director Lauren MacMullan, Producer Dorothy McKim, Legendary Disney artist Eric Goldberg and CG animator Adam Green.
I had a chance to spend a few hours with some of the Disney animators who created a short film called, Get A Horse that was featured before the Disney Frozen film at the premiere. Come inside to check out a fancy sketch I learned to draw and what I was gifted with from a legendary animator!
This was a cool experience because when I was younger I would “doodle” like my mom! My mom has the best handwriting and when she would talk on the phone( when I was a young girl) she would have sketch pads and doodle ladies in fancy dresses, fruit and so much more! I wish I would have kept some of her drawings, they were so pretty! I picked up the love for art from her and became an award winning nail artist because of my nail designs and 3d art with lots of trophies to prove it lol. So when we got to meet and chat with these award-winning Disney animators and directors I was very excited to hear how they created each character for their short film.
My drawing of Pete, lawd!
I also use to be a huge Minnie Mouse collector when I was very young, so I really loved when they showed us how they made Mickey and Minnie in 3d and pop off the screen. It was really cool to hear! Lead animator Eric Goldberg showed us two ways that they draw Mickey. A vintage version and new more hip version, it was pretty neat! Then he gave us a drawing lesson on how to draw one of the characters Pete. I was too tickled, mine came out ok. He also did the genie in Aladdin and Phil in Hercules. It was a great experience for sure. I have to get back into drawing, I was pretty good at it! I really enjoyed this and hope to be able to go back to learn more! xoxo
Drawn and given to me by legendary animator Eric Goldberg, wow! I’m framing this!
