Before becoming an actor, Bautista was a professional wrestler known as “Batista” in WWE. He is a six-time world champion in wrestling. Bautista has also competed in mixed martial arts. He won his debut fight in 2012 by TKO in the first round.
Bautista gained widespread recognition for his role as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with “Guardians of the Galaxy” in 2014. He has numerous tattoos, including a large dragon on his back and the flag of the Philippines on his arm to honor his Filipino heritage.
Besides the MCU, Bautista has appeared in several other films, such as “Spectre,” “Blade Runner 2049,” and “Dune.” Bautista is known for his love of animals and has several rescue dogs.
