“The View” co-hosts were treated to a holiday performance from multi-platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks over the holidays!
Sparks joined “The View” co-hosts to discuss her new album “No Restrictions,” hosting the show “Roller Jam” and her upcoming tour.
Jordin Sparks’ musical journey began at a young age. She started performing at age 13 and was actively involved in her high school’s music program, singing in the choir and participating in musical theater.
Jordin, 35, won American Idol in 2007 at the age of 17, becoming the youngest female winner in the history of the show. She also made history as the first winner to be born after the show premiered!
Jordin received a Grammy nomination for her hit single No Air (a collaboration with Chris Brown) in 2009. The song became a chart-topping success and is one of her most recognizable hits.
Jordin is passionate about giving back and is heavily involved in charitable work. She’s supported various causes, including those related to education, health, and disaster relief. She even traveled to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake to help with recovery efforts.
In 2014, Jordin made her Broadway debut in the musical In the Heights, where she played the role of Nina Rosario. It was a significant career step that showcased her talent beyond pop music.
Along with her music career, Jordin has pursued acting. She appeared in films like Sparkle (2012) alongside Whitney Houston and in the romantic drama The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete (2013).
Jordin’s talents aren’t limited to just singing and acting. She is also a songwriter and has written many of her own songs, often drawing from her personal experiences and relationships.
Jordin has spoken openly about her fitness journey, inspiring many with her weight loss and commitment to a healthier lifestyle. She has been an advocate for body positivity and self-love throughout her career.
Jordin married her long-time boyfriend, Dana Isaiah, in 2017. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named DJ, in May 2018.
