Here is one of my favorite designers in the whole wide world and yes that is Valentino! They showed their Haute Couture Autumn 2015 collection in Italy at Biblioteca Casanatense, a public library in Rome. I would have LOVED to be there to see such an amazing show but they did send me a link to watch online and it was spectacular like I knew it would be! These gladiator sandals are still in style I see and not going anywhere anytime soon. The capes, dresses and the gold leaf hair accessories and jewels reminded me of Rome, pure fabulosity! Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli brought Haute Couture to a place they love, where everything begins and has meaning: Rome.
It is a magical and mysterious journey exploring a city full of wonders that are unknown to most: mysterious, pagan and ecclesiastic, sensuous and rigorous, dark and seductive. A city that does not contemplate flattery, revealed through glimpses and illuminations in a surprising interpretation.
The austere, sleek set designed by artist Pietro Ruffo is a modern interpretation of the Roman Forum. This is the stage for a collection with solemn, magical mystery: profound, decadent and moving.
