Yesterday evening was soo fun! I was invited out to a listening party & dinner with R&B powerhouse Tank. Tank has been around for a minute and I remember couple skating to his music back in the day lol. The intimate affair was held at Straits restaurant. A select few in the media got a chance to hear some of Tanks new music from his upcoming cd called, Now or Never.
As we gathered to the private dining area, I could hear his soft voice playing over the sound system in the restaurant. Hearing his voice was a pleasant sound in my ear, instead of hearing the repetitious music on the radio lol. It was definitely grown and sexy soothing music.
Singaporean Spring Rolls
Short Rib Oxtail Rendang
What was served:
For starters, we had Roti Prata(grilled indian bread), appetizers which were singaporean spring rolls and Straits caesar salad. The main course was short rib oxtail rendang, garlic noodles w/chicken and Nasi Goreng(vegetables). For dessert we had trio of sorbet and two complimentary drinks. The food is always great at Straits!

Tank arrived shortly afterwards looking damn good in his grey wool coat,white tee and jeans with those sexy eyes. I had met him a few weeks back at Ginuwine’s listening party at the very same place. When I met him then, my heart skipped a beat because he has a lot of sex appeal.I couldn’t talk to him too long without getting choked up. I know I’m married but a girl can still have her crushes lol.
Tank greeted everyone and then ordered off the menu. We then started firing off questions to him and he was eager to answer them all. Some asked about his twitter rant about his appearance on Soul Train Music Awards and he quickly said, I understand now it was all about timing. It was a 4 hour taped show, with a 2 hour time slot but that he was happy for the experience and would love to work with them again.
Tank and Rich Girl
I asked him from his new cd, which song was for the ladies and he said the song Amazing(track 11). It’s how he feels about women and how worthy we are. I almost passed out at the table when he answered that, tee hee. He spoke of how he loves to work out, go to movies and spend time with his kids. You know I asked him was he single and he said yes. He speaks fluent spanish, plays many musical instruments and writes, produces and arranges mostly all of his music.
I gifted Tank with some Cami Cakes, even though I know he’s a health nut but he quickly new the brand of cupcakes and asked me what flavors did I get him? I said, red velvet and sweet potato he smiled ear to ear lol. He kept calling me Cakes for the rest of the night! We tweeted that all night too, that Tank gave @Talking with Tami the pet name “Cakes”, loved it lol!
Tank’s cd will be available online and in stores on my son’s birthday December 14th! Atlantic records(which is his new label) gave us all a copy. I played it in the car and love many of the songs. For the grown and sexy, this is a must have to give to friends or have in your private collection! Look for Tank’s appearance on the Monique show Dec. 6 too! Congrats to Tank and I hope his career goes very far! He has a very warm and engaging spirit! Shouts out to Saptosa Foster at 135th Agency for the invite. xoxo
