Amanda makes her debut as the new permanent co-host in today’s show and it’s an emotional moment as the other hosts welcome her. She explains how guest co-hosting made her realize The Real was a place she could just be herself.

Loni Love: Let’s not keep you in suspense any longer – as you can see, we’ve switched up seats a little bit…
Jeannie Mai: I got some more leg room…
Loni: There you go!
Adrienne Houghton: Tam is over here on this side now!
Tamera Mowry-Housley: I love you guys!
Adrienne: Come on down, girl!
Loni: We spruced up the set a little bit and we have an empty chair here.
Loni: So. We’re excited to announce who is going to fill it. She’s a comedian, an actress that you know from HBO’s hit show Insecure, she’s an author, she’s someone who’s been guest co-hosting, and so we said, “You know what? Let’s just make it permanent!”
Loni: Please welcome the newest member of our family, the new co-host of The Real, Amanda Seales!
[Amanda dances out to The Real theme song. Confetti drops and she takes her seat]
Jeannie: I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it! I love it!
Adrienne: Surprise!
Loni: Yes, I’m still here bitches, I ain’t goin’ nowhere!
Adrienne: Wrong rumor, wrong rumor!
Loni: No, it was the wrong – there were so many rumors, you guys. But Amanda, this is your seat now – how does it feel to be in the chair?
Amanda Seales: I’m tripping right now. Keep talking, keep talking.
Tamera: Are you getting emotional Amanda? Well, I just have to say, we get emotional at this table and it’s ok!
Jeannie: Yeah!
Tamera: It’s ok! It’s ok!
Jeannie: Tell us what’s going on.
[Amanda covers her face.]
Loni: What are you feeling right now?
Jeannie: What’s going through the mind? Like, emotions, tell us everything.
Amanda: I didn’t expect to cry! I’m a G!
