Morris Chestnut’s breakthrough role was as Ricky Baker in the critically acclaimed film “Boyz n the Hood” (1991), directed by John Singleton. Before pursuing acting, Chestnut was a football player in high school and considered a career in sports. He studied finance and drama at California State University, Northridge.
Chestnut is well-known for his role as Lance Sullivan in “The Best Man” (1999) and its sequel, “The Best Man Holiday” (2013).
