A Magical Tale: A True Disney Princess Movie Review

Why is everyone upset about a Disney princess movie? In short, right-wing culture critics take issue with Rachel Zegler and the idea of a Latina Snow White. Gal Gadot’s service in the IDF and her recent pro-Israel stance have sparked anger among pro-Palestine activists, while the Little People community has mixed reactions to both the casting and the film’s existence.

I get where everyone’s coming from, but this whole situation reminds me of the controversy around The Little Mermaid when it was released. It feels like people are extra sensitive these days, when it literally is a fairytale geesh. I’m not entirely sure how to navigate that, but I really enjoyed this reimagined version. Now, let’s dive into the movie and what I liked about it!

From the moment the film starts, I knew I was about to embark on a journey into a world of magic, beauty, and timeless lessons. The storyline was nothing short of captivating! It flowed effortlessly, with a powerful message at its core true beauty lies within. You can have all the outer beauty in the world, but if your heart is dark, your success will be fleeting. Snow White shines as the epitome of grace, kindness, and compassion a role model everyone dreams to be. In today’s world, where chaos often reigns, this movie feels like a breath of fresh air, a reminder of what truly matters. If only the world could take a cue from Snow White!

Now, let me talk about the Evil Queen, Gal Gadot truly ate that role! She slayed, portraying a villain so enchanting that it almost made you wonder if being bad could be so glamorous. Her beauty? Out of this world. She served looks and charisma in equal measure, and honestly, her face card never declines!

As for the seven dwarfs, they were certainly a mixed bag of emotions for me! While the CGI sometimes seemed a little off, they charmed the entire theater. Dopey oh, how the crowd cheered for him as he faced obstacles and triumphed. Each dwarf embodied the spirit of perseverance and teamwork, reminding us that with hard work and loyalty, we can conquer anything. Their bond with Snow White was heartwarming and a true testament to the magic of friendship.

Then there’s the romance. The slow burn between Jonathan and Snow White was enchanting, building with tension until both characters found themselves in peril, only to come back together in the most romantic way possible. We all know the famous True Love’s Kiss and yes, it was every bit as magical as it sounds.

The musical numbers were enchanting! The songs, the dancing, the energy—it all transported me into a world where everything felt possible. Rachel’s voice was strong and beautiful, and she made every note feel like a hug for your soul. Disney’s cinematography was, as expected, nothing short of breathtaking—vibrant, magical, and brimming with life. Every frame felt like a work of art.

Now, let’s talk about the costuming. Snow White’s look was beautiful, but I must admit, I was expecting something a little more dramatic—maybe something that would leave me speechless. The white gown at the end was lovely, but I was still craving that extra sparkle, especially when you compare it to the lavishness of Cinderella’s iconic transformation. Still, Sandy Powell, the genius behind the costumes, delivered a masterpiece. She confessed that Snow White was her biggest challenge yet, and she nailed it! The Evil Queen’s look was another story entirely her makeup and nails were absolutely fierce, and that 30-foot cape? Pure theatrical magic.

In all, this film was an enchanting experience filled with heart, magic, and lessons that will stick with you long after the credits roll. I’m giving it a solid 8 out of 10 a wonderful movie to share with your loved ones. It’s everything you could wish for in a fairytale, with a sprinkle of modern-day magic to make it truly unforgettable.

A beautiful girl, Snow White, takes refuge in the forest in the house of seven dwarfs to hide from her stepmother, the wicked Queen. The Queen is jealous because she wants to be known as “the fairest in the land,” and Snow White’s beauty surpasses her own.
