My spirit was bothering me and I think that I have held my tongue far too long, so I’m going in! See what my rant is about after the jump!
TWT TEA: This rant is really not directed towards singers Ginuwine or Tank. I have been around these two in many settings and both are extremely humble and have great personalities but you guys are in the group TGT with Tyrese now, why I don’t know, so I’m going to pick at you too! See I’ve been a member of the media for a long time now and I’m in my 40’s and this is my blog and if I choose to rant how I feel, then so be it! I first met Tyrese a few years ago here in Atlanta at the first annual BET Hip Hop Awards. Everyone was in love with him because of his singing abilities and how handsome he was. I was elated to meet him but was very disappointed once I did! He was VERY arrogant and stand-offish. Ok, let’s move forward to last year at the BET Awards in Los Angeles. As you guys know that are avid readers, I was chosen to be a social media influencer at the Ford Hot Spot Lounge and had all access to celebrities during the award show. The trio had just announced that they were starting their new R&B group and later came and sat in my section.
I was assigned with my own videographer and photographer by Ford. I re-introduced myself to Ginuwine and Tank. Tyrese with his big ol’ rock head yells out, “who is this?” in a very snarky way and really didn’t want to take pics with me. After I told him who I was, he says to me, “oh well hurry up!” First off, you sat your behind in my section that was labeled Talking With Tami and so I assumed he knew what was going on! I was pissed but kept my composure and did what I was suppose to do, argh! So that was two strikes against Tyrese!
Now let’s move forward with them being here in Atlanta for the Bronner Brothers hair show to promote their new cd over the weekend, which I didn’t bother to look up the album title, I don’t really care. I hate to say that because I really like Tank & Ginuwine and I want to see them do well but Tyrese erks my soul! Smh! My cell phone was lit up all over the weekend from people in the media that attended the hair show, talking about how rude Tyrese and the guys were at the event! Shielding fans from getting photos of them, having big body guards act a monkey towards the press and fans, not wanting to pose for the cameras etc. And to make matters worse, they were trying to charge fans to take pics with them! Lawd, what in the hell is wrong with them? I heard they got upset because people really wanted pics with them instead of buying their cd, lol!
I have been going to the Bronner Brother’s hair show for years and have never seen celebrities charge for photo opts! Who do they think they are? It’s a great place to promote what you are doing because of the thousands that attend. But those people that come out for the show are your demographics and who will support your music. To charge them and then act mean is not right! That type of behavior is not acceptable and your fans will see that and be turned off by you and your music. I was not there but my sources told me many stories on how they were acting like divas. Honey chile yall get a big FAIL and need to do better! Tyrese you are already skating on thin ice with your dumb opinions on people being fat etc! I’m wondering if Tank & Ginuwine can get out of their contracts? I’m sure he is a very difficult person to work with lol! Till next time! xoxo
Update: My friend told me last night, “I don’t know why they acting Hollywood! None of them can sell albums by themselves and that’s why they’re in a group and still ain’t selling!” I almost passed out! Hell nawl! LOL!
