Celebrity Style: Sherri Shepherd Re-Creates Four Met Gala Looks For Halloween

Talk show host Sherri Shepherd wears four iconic high-fashion looks from four iconic fashion superstars on Sherri’s Halloween Fashion Gala episode of SHERRI, airing on Thursday, October 31. Costumes were inspired by Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Tyla and Cardi B.  See all the fun inside and Happy Halloween everyone!

Look 1

Sherri wears a re-creation of Rihanna’s 2023 Valentino outfit, including white silk gloves, a bright red lip and sunglasses. Willie Sinclair III, Sherri’s wardrobe stylist said, “The dress was made using over 25 yards of fabric and we handcrafted 46 different petals for the flowers.” Executive producer Jawn Murray joined in as A$AP Rock with a plaid kilt over jeans with rhinestones.

Look 2

Sherri dons a version of Kim K’s 2021 look from Balenciaga. Sherri’s hair stylist, Theo Barrett, comments, “I gave Sherri a sleek ponytail with 40 inches of hair weighing close to 5 pounds ….”

Look 3

Sherri puts on  a recreation (by Roderick Reyes)  of Tyla’s Balmain 2024 look. The construction of the fitted bodice dress started with making a bust of Sherri by wrapping her in Duct Tape and then using glue and sand to create the right texture for the dress. Makeup artist Rodney Jon worked to “ … make Sherri feel confident and empowered.”

Look 4

Sherri’s take on Cardi B’s dress from 2019 was created by Todd Fisher. With over 200 hours of sewing, the designer used ruffles instead of feathers in this cruelty-free version of the original Thom Browne ensemble.

Also, joining the talk show host on this very special Halloween episode are Deborah Roberts (20/20) who has covered the fashion event of the season many times and model sensation Anok Yai who explained to Sherri what it was like inside fashion’s most beloved event. She also revealed details about her email conversations with Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, saying “I made it, sis!”
