Steep & Ride: My Experience With Tea Around Town/ATL

The “Tea Around Town” mobile bus concept is an innovative way to bring the experience of tea directly to different neighborhoods, events, or gatherings.

I experienced the tea bus tour in Atlanta over the weekend and had a nice time with my daughter Tyra, her friend Kayla and my gal pal Gail! We got all dolled by getting our makeup and hair done then picked out cute outfits and headed downtown by Centennial Park. This is the location where the mobile bus picks up all the guests. I thought the bus was super cute, decorated beautifully and especially since it was fancied in my favorite color pink ha! Once inside, I was shocked to learn it was very roomy! It’s decorated just like an actual tea room with lots of pretty flowers everywhere. I, at first was thinking of a double decker styled bus, by the way it looked in photos but when you enter you head up a flight of stairs to the main level that sits about 25 people comfortably. I was so confused at first, thinking about where everyone would sit lol.

Some tables seat 2, and the other tables seat 4 (it did not feel crowded and stuffy either). Once everyone boarded, there were about 5 staff members that went around making sure everyone was ok. They were very friendly I must say. Once everyone got situated, they went over everything that was going to happen on our tour. The soft music started to play, and we finally departed! The tables were already set up with two-tier stands of savory & sweet, delectable bites. They also gave us souvenir tea tumblers that were so cute! Later, staff went around and served us an array of different teas along with wine and fresh fruit. There was also a tour guide that talked to us over a mic pointing out specific landmarks in the downtown area, he then serenaded us with a few songs, very nice touch. The tour last about 90 minutes.

By it being a mobile tea bus, it is equipped with a bathroom and a wheelchair ramp if needed. Just thought to share that. The dishes on the table were pretty stable throughout the course of the tour, I was very surprised by that lol. I was very impressed because Atlanta streets and potholes are not for the weak lol. We mingled with other guests, took photos and complimented each other on our outfits. There were even young kids enjoying their time. I saw a few couples on dates, how romantic. I found my experience to be very pleasant and Tour Around Town would be the perfect option for a bridal shower, birthday celebration or date night! Just be prepared to pay for parking and it will cost you about $125(Luxe) per person. Inside, I share ideas on if you want to start a mobile tea business with this concept too…

Concept of a Tea Mobile Bus

  1. Design and Setup: The bus would be designed to resemble a stylish tea room or café on wheels. It could feature a well-equipped kitchen for brewing a variety of teas, serving snacks, and creating a comfortable seating area.
  2. Tea Menu: The bus could offer a rotating selection of teas, including classic options like Earl Grey and Darjeeling, as well as specialty blends, herbal teas, and seasonal flavors. It might also include tea-related treats such as scones, pastries, and sandwiches.
  3. Locations and Events: The mobile tea bus could travel to various locations around the city, including parks, festivals, markets, and corporate events. It could also offer pop-up tea experiences in neighborhoods, providing a unique and accessible way for people to enjoy high-quality tea.
  4. Community Engagement: The bus could host special events like tea tastings, workshops, and tea pairings. It could also collaborate with local artists or musicians to enhance the atmosphere and create a community-centered experience.
  5. Booking and Reservations: For private events or corporate functions, the mobile tea bus could be available for booking. This would allow groups to enjoy a customized tea experience at their chosen location.
  6. Sustainability: Emphasizing eco-friendly practices, the bus could use biodegradable cups and utensils, and implement recycling and waste reduction measures.

This concept is a charming and innovative way to enjoy tea on the go!
