The Queens of R&B came together to celebrate their brand tour at FUHU in Las Vegas. The Queens of R&B Tour will feature XSCAPE, SWV, MÝA, Total, and 702.
Produced by Mona Scott Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation and represented by Seth Shomes through Day After Day Productions (DADP), the tour will kick off on June 27th in Concord, CA, at the Toyota Pavilion at Concord and continue its journey across the country, making stops at prestigious venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. SWV was formed in 1988 in New York City by Cheryl Gamble (Coko), Tamara Johnson (Taj), and Leanne Lyons (Lelee). They met in high school and decided to form a singing group. Group Xscape
Xscape was formed in 1991 in Atlanta, Georgia. The original members were Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, LaTocha Scott, and Tamika Scott. The group came together while attending high school in the Atlanta area. Their debut album, “Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha,” was released in 1993 and went platinum. It featured hit singles like “Just Kickin’ It” and “Understanding,” both of which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Xscape achieved significant success with songs like “Who Can I Run To,” “My Little Secret,” and “The Arms of the One Who Loves You.” These hits became staples of 1990s R&B and established the group’s reputation for soulful harmonies. The group received multiple awards and nominations throughout their career. In 1994, Xscape won a Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist. Orish’s twin sister, LeMisha Grinstead, later replaced Orish, solidifying the lineup that brought the group to fame.
The group gained attention after meeting Michael Bivins of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe, who helped them secure a record deal.
