Janelle Monáe sat down with Jennifer Hudson yesterday. Jennifer asked her what it was like to work with Nia Long after having a crush on the actress while growing up. The star told Jennifer what an honor it was to collaborate with the likes of Grace Jones and the late Prince.

Monae said that she met Nia years ago at one of her concerts. She didn’t want to reveal to her back then that she was one of her longtime crushes.

Janelle Monáe later revealed the dream she had before her Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Plus, the star told Jennifer why she loves making music. She said the night she found out she was nominated, she had a dream that she did not get nominated. She said she loves making art. She woke up and realized that she was dreaming and she started getting text messages congratulating her.

The 38-year-old beauty wore a lovely ruffle appliqué smocked body con midi dress for the show! It featured sculptural rosettes covering the front bodice and sleeves. The fabric was made of popcorn material with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. I love to see the full transition with this sister! She started out wearing only black & white paying homage to her parents who inspired her style but now she is fully embracing trying different looks and I am hear for it!
