So you guys know that I always give you a recap of New York Fashion Week! I give you the tea on the good, the bad and the ugly every season! This time around, I really did have a great time, I think this was the best season yet and I do plan on going again. This time I was invited to even more shows but some I couldn’t make because they were scheduled when I was already headed back home, I was bummed out but hopefully one day, I can afford to stay the full week but its quite expensive. Check out my recap and more images inside!
The Good…
I got to hang out with these two stylish ladies all week! Thanks Dr. Stacia Pierce and Ariana for a great time!
Shout out to my dear friend Nicole Williams! She got up EVERY single day at 6 a.m. to come to my hotel to beat my face! Love U!
I had the opportunity to film with Spice Tv from the U.K.! I can’t wait to see the footage!
Meeting up with Jacinta Ligon, my long-lost high school buddy who’s a fashion designer in NYC, super fun!
Hanging out with Vogue for a few events was awesome, thanks so much guys for the hospitality!
I got to see my beloved Barbie, she was the best-dressed during New York Fashion Week lol
The weather was perfect in NYC, I couldn’t believe it!
The swag bags and fashion lounges were insane!!! So many wonderful goodies, yes!
Glad to report that I saw WAY more diversity on the catwalk this season, I was very impressed!
Ran into so many fashionable friends! This is celebrity stylist Ty Hunter, he dresses Beyonce!
Fashion Blogger Claire Sulmers of The Fashion Bomb Daily in NYC.
I also made a lot of new friends! Hey girls!
The shows, backstage access and presentations that I was invited to were so much fun, beautiful and exciting to see!

Supermodel Adriana Lima backstage at Desigual
I got to visit Dumbo, Brooklyn! The people there were mad cool! What’s up Brooklyn!
The Bad…
Reporters and photographers STILL do not acknowledge curvy or African Americans people at New York Fashion Week. Time and time again, I saw them running after skinny Caucasian women for photos and interviews when there were LOTS of stylish blacks and other races at Lincoln Center. On many sites and in magazines there was NOTHING but Caucasians in their street style posts and recaps during New York Fashion Week Spring 2015. It’s sad to sit there and watch but WE have to keep on pushing forward! Our presence is MUCH needed!
Cab drivers tried it time and time again with their fee scams! Luckily we had our google map apps on our cell phones! Can’t stand some of the cab drivers in NYC, their rude and conniving! If I knew where I was going and it was not so expensive to park, I would have driven my damn self smh!
I was invited to Michael Costello’s runway show. Not only was I invited to the fashion show but backstage as well to meet him! Only thing is, his fashion show was scheduled the day I was headed back to Atlanta, lawd!!! I passed out when I seen the date…then I saw that one of my favorite reality stars and fashionistas Lily Ghalichi walked in his show…Argh!
The Ugly…
My feet hurt so bad in NYC because it’s A LOT of walking! The pain was excruciating!!! I came back limping for days with swollen feet and ankles OMG! In Atlanta we drive everywhere, so my feet were not prepared for all that pavement!
After many seasons of trying, I was FINALLY invited to Betsey Johnson’s fashion show and couldn’t make it because I had already left NYC! I cried like a baby!
We stayed at The Empire Hotel again. It’s very convenient and located right across the street from Lincoln Center where the shows take place. This hotel is very posh but they must do better with their WIFI and elevator issues. Hundreds of people come in town for fashion week and they expect great service and that we did not get!
The first day we got stuck in the elevator and everyday after that, it was some sort of issue with them. I had NO WIFI the whole five days I was there and had to use a hot spot. As much as it costs to stay there during NYFW, you would think that they would fix the issue by now. It was the same way last time we stayed there too. We plan on moving to a different hotel next season, it’s just not worth the money, headache or aggravation. Evidently they do not care, smh!
Would I do it all over again? Hell yeah! I’ve already booked my flight and hotel accommodations for 2015 and this time, I do plan on heading to London Fashion Week as well! Yay!
