Me and my bestie Heather
Here I am in my pretty lil sparkly dress in 1996 back in my hometown. I was very excited to attend my 10-year class reunion and see my old high school friends and catch up with long lost buddies. It didn’t turn out so well though!
I don’t know about you but I have had little to no contact with anyone that I attended high school with. I was a quiet kid back then(can you believe it) and by me going through so much as a teen, facing homelessness and a lot of adversity, I was pretty much an introvert. In school I stayed to myself, kept good grades, I cheered and worked to take care of myself.
Then Facebook came around and I started to connect with a lot of high school friends and that was fun! Lots of people back then look so different now, wow! Some I didn’t even recognize. Have you ever checked out the hottest girl in high school to see what she looks like today? Lawd have mercy! I was VERY skinny in high school, the boys were friendly to me but they were not checking for me lol. All the hot girls then, look QUITE different now! Most of my classmates are grandparents now and I can’t believe it! I’m still raising teens but was one of the last in my class to have kids.
I was tagged in a few pics the other day and saw that they had a class reunion picnic. By me moving south years ago, I have never had any desire to travel back and attend any of my high school reunion activities. I do have some good memories of high school, I just haven’t made time to go back. At my ten-year class reunion the messy people were STILL messy, the guys still thought they had it and it was just a hot mess. I left a lil disappointed. At that time of that reunion, I was a pretty successful business owner, owning and running my very own nail salon called, Nails By Tami. I just will NOT be returning to any of them, Im just not interested so sad to say. I do wish them all well though. Do you still attend your high school functions? xoxo
