I had the opportunity to be invited out to a press conference for one of the most anticipated films called, Captain America: The Winter Soldier held at The Ritz Carlton in Buckhead a few days ago. The co-producer Nate Moore was in the house along with actor Anthony Mackie who plays a lead character called, The Falcon! Come inside to read about 10 Things I learned about the film and more!
I saw the film a few weeks ago and boy are you guys in for a surprise, its really good! I attended the press conference and we fired away with questions that we had concerning the film! Here are 10 Things I Learned….
A lot of the film was shot in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio!!! Around the Browns Stadium, The Correctional Facility, Cleveland State and by The Flats. They filmed there for 2 months, the film commission were very nice to the production crew. The weather was very unpredictable lol!
The house that you see Anthony Mackie(Sam Wilson/The Falcon) lives in was in Cleveland as well, on the west side of town.
The scene with the huge car crash with Samuel L. Jackson(Nick Fury) was filmed right by the Browns Stadium
Anthony Mackie enjoyed learning how to stunt fly and working with a green screen. He did as much stunts as he could.
Anthony Mackie understood some fans distaste for him playing “The Falcon” but he said he was happy that a young black boy can have a super hero that they can look up to and dress up as during Halloween!
The Falcon may be in the next sequel, they are still developing characters but it’s pretty top secret!
Anthony had about 2 months to prepare for the role of The Falcon. He followed a strict diet that included lots of chicken breast, brown rice, fruit and vegetables in small quantities. He also did lots of cardio for 1 hour a day and weights.
Anthony first feature film was Sucker Free City produced by Spike Lee
Trumpeter Winton Marsalis and Anthony are best friends
Anthony was the first choice for The Falcon, in Captain America: The Winter Soldier
