10 Degrees South

If you want to go somewhere where there is great food and a sexy atmosphere, you should head to 10 Degrees South! I was referred there by a friend name Justin Epstein. He knows that I’m a big foodie and said I would love this place. Its south african food and I’ve never tasted anything like it.I dragged along my buddy Chavien and he was delighted to hang.

We walked in and I was quickly impressed with the layout and art design. I felt like I walked into someones condominium instead of a restaurant. I was greeted by a pretty hostess and they sat us quickly. A handsome young man appeared, who owns this fab place named, Justin too lol. He chatted with me and said they’ve been open for 12 years. He’s from South Africa and wanted to bring his food to Atlanta.

He said he was a professional soccer player and played for the Atlanta team for awhile. He’s married ladies, sorry but he is oh so cute! He told us we would enjoy the food and I quickly asked what was the most popular items on the menu.

Calamari, Sosatie, Boerewors Sandwiches

Chicken Curry

Prawns

He said most of the customers liked their Calamari which is grilled and tossed in lemon butter and caper sauce. The Sosaties was another favorite thats filet and marinated and topped with a sweet apricot curry sauce. The Boerewors Sandwiches are a great hit too. We tried all three and I almost lost my mind, It was delicious. There was nothing I made the ugly face at! Actually I asked for seconds lol.

Di’s delight

We then tried the prawns. Let’s just say I was praying that Chavien was full because I didn’t want to share anymore! It’s Socculent butterflied shrimp grilled in the shell served with rice. I’m a lover of seafood, so I was excited to try this, very, very, good! We also had curry chicken which was very tender and tasty. It was made with traditional South African spices and herbs served  on a bed of yellow and white rice accompanied with sambals.

Owner Justin and I

Justin asked me to save room for dessert! He said it was a favorite at the restaurant. It’s called, Di’s delight, named after his mom. She prepares it especially for the restaurant. It was served with vanilla ice cream and carmel. I wanted to curl up on the back patio and take a small nap after that. Chavien and I was very impressed with everything and plan on going back very soon. If you ‘re in the Buckhead area of Atlanta or plan on visiting here, please stop in. It’s simply Pinktastic!
