All the fun was backstage at the Doggies on the Catwalk fashion show. We started off getting our makeup and hair done by Carter and Barnes and getting into our outfits created by the students. I started off wearing a pink dress but my designer Timothy didn’t like the final product so he decided to make me a red two piece outfit. It was satin with black buttons.

Backstage I got to mingle with some of the other models and meet some cute doggies! My partner China was very feisty and full of energy. Everyone had lots of nervous energy but it turned out to be so much fun! I want to thank Urban Couture and Vincent Martiniez for inviting me to be in the show!

Meet the new Lifestyle Editor at Rolling Out Mag!

I have some good news for you guys! I’ve been soo busy that I almost forgot lol. I was offered a position over at Rolling Out Magazine a couple of days ago. After some deep negotiations,CEO Munson Steed and I came to an agreement lol. Munson and I go way back and he is a true friend. I briefly had a stint at Rolling Out a few years back. Now I am being brought on as the Lifestyle Editor at this national magazine and I’m too excited! My handsome boss who I report to name is Gerald A. Radford and he’s the Editor in Chief.

I will also be an on air tv personality doing, Talking with Tami on Rolling Out Tv. Doesn’t it fit perfectly? I have been independently doing stories, traveling,covering events and interviewing celebrities for years and its finally paying off! Whew!

My first day on the job was yesterday. I had a great interview with Best Selling Author J.L.King. You may remember him from appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show a couple of times. We had a chance to catch up and see what he’s been up to. He left me speechless with his up front and honest answers!

Next, I was off to Grady High School to meet up with my designer Timothy Bennett for my fitting. I will be a celebrity model in the Doggies on the Catwalk on January 14th. Vincent Martinez is the director of Urban Couture at the school and oversees the seniors projects. I’m so excited to strut my stuff in the show! I can’t wait to meet doggy China, my partner on the catwalk. It’s starting off to be a great year and I feel truly blessed! I want to give a big shout out to the staff over at Rolling Out Magazine for welcoming me with open arms. Also a big hug to Mr. Munson Steed! xoxo

Doggies on the Catwalk,guess who’s modeling?

Doggies on the Catwalk is an annual fashion show to benefit the Pals non profit organization, produced by my friend Vincent Martinez. He also created the fashion division, Urban Couture at Grady High School. Think Tim Gunn from project runway for high school kids lol. Each year the senior class has to make a garment for local influential people in the community and I was chosen to participate! I did a cartwheel when I got the invite!

So the other day I got to visit Grady High School and meet my designer Timothy Bennett, he was too cute! He wants to be a doctor and attend Ga State when he graduates next year. He also loves sewing interiors for old school rides thats why he took the class. We hit it off right away and he asked me what I would like to wear. He sketched out a drawing and we both loved it. I told him as long as it had some pink and poof,I was a happy camper!

This will be the 4th Annual fashion show and it will be held at Scad Atlanta. More details will come when I get them. Oh, did I tell yah I will be walking with a furry friend? Timothy told me he has some new bulldog puppies and if I would like to walk with one of them. I said sure and can’t wait to meet my model. This is going to be a hoot I can tell already! This will be a televised event that will air on Georgia Public Broadcasting, too Pinktastic!
