TalkingWithTami.com: Hey there Kaira! Wow Ive seen you in quite a few movies, your doing your thing and Im so proud of you. I want you to take me back to that very first day you told your parents you wanted to be an actress!
It’s funny, I never had to tell my parents. It was always obvious. From the time I did my first play at 5, they knew. Everyone knew! I never missed an opportunity to perform, whether it was in a play, a talent show, a pageant, a speaking contest, a holiday function…you name it! Luckily my parents were always very supportive of my dream to be an actress and their encouragement turned my dream into a realistic and viable goal.

TalkingWithTami.com: In all the roles you play, which one best fits your true personality?

I’d have to say “Diva” from the BET sitcom Somebodies. She’s creative, ambitious, and likes to be silly and have fun. She has a lot more physical energy than I do, though…I was worn out at the end of each day of shooting!

TalkingWithTami.com: Besides acting I know you are starting a new venture in the consignment business! Girl please tell!

I’m a fashion junky with a passion for finding stylish consignment, vintage, and thrift store pieces so I decided to create A Clothes Encounter, an upscale consignment shopping party where women can save up to 75% off retail while sipping cocktails, enjoying music, and socializing in Atlanta’s hottest venues. We hold one party each season at a different chic location like a salon, art gallery, or lounge and build an amazing inventory through my personal finds, individual consignment, and donations from local celebrities, trendsetters, executives, and everyday fashionistas.

TalkingWithTami.com: Im no actor and starting to really consider, can you give us some good tips on how to prepare,audition for roles?

The hardest part about acting/auditioning is learning how to be your unique self. Each person brings their own special energy to a role or an audition, and it’s important to embrace what sets you a part from the next person. It really is about your personal approach to the character, and how you can make a strong, clear choice that stands out among the rest. You have to find what makes you special as an actor and go for it!

TalkingWithTami.com: Tell us what you like to do to relax when you have down time?
Since down time is so rare for me, I like to do a lot of nothing! That means enjoying the simple things like relaxing in a clean house, spending time with my family and friends, or just chilling with my dogs.
