Today was a blessing! That’s all I’m going to say! I got to meet the nicest young lady in the world today. Her name is Isis King and you may remember her on Americas Next Top Model cycle 11. Well her manager Marcus emailed me and asked me if I would be interested in chatting with Isis while they visited here to Atlanta.

I must admit that I am not a fan of the show, Americas Next Top Model lol. After the first season I was over it, but I was very curious to chat with Ms. Isis because her pictures were beautiful and she looked very cool.After I did my lil research, I said what the heck!

Well we set up a meeting and I asked Mark what was her favorite foods. He told me she loves soul food, so I took her to one of my favorite spots, Sweet Auburn Bistro. We both arrived at the same time and I knew who she was as soon as she walked up to me. She is so pretty everyone was starring. She is gorg, tall and tiny in person. First thing I asked her was what was she wearing. It was a black poofy half shoulder dress. She loves poof like me and said, “I’m wearing Paco”, as she pranced around and sashayed for me! I told her to work!

We sat down and I introduced her to Jayda Boo and explained that we were going to feed the homeless later. I looked at her and she said, “girl I’m starved!” We ordered our food and got to chatting it up like ol girlfriends that hadn’t seen each other in awhile lol. She told us how it was to be on Americas Next Top Model(which was fab), The Tyra Banks show(she loved the opportunity), her being a graduate of fashion school(she is so creative), being an artist, model and now maybe a possible rapper, this girl is busy! She just loves life and all that it has to offer basically!

Yall know I’m nosey and had to go there, so I asked her about her transition from being a male to a female. She explained to me that she has never been gay and that she always felt like she was trapped in a man’s body. She has always been very feminine  and loved all the girly stuff, so having the complete surgery was a relief for her. She did it in two parts, first the bottom in Feb 2009(which was funded by Tyra Banks). She then had her tata’s done in January 2010. She said she is a full B cup. She does have a steady boyfriend now and that life is great.

We talked about some more deeper things but she wanted to keep that between her and I, sorry yall! I learned alot this afternoon I must say!  Isis opened my eyes to alot of things in our short visit.

We then got our food and laughed and talked some more. She was ready to get the party started because it was her first time in Atlanta.We both like greens,mac n cheese and fried chicken so that’s what we both munched on. We share so many similarities it’s ridiculous. Isis was homeless in NYC not too long ago and so was I as a teenager. She is only 24 now. Jayda Boo and I had to get ready to feed the homeless downtown and Isis was eager to help out. She helped with the boxes of food and that was so sweet of her.

Afterwards,my friend FreddyO swung by to get a couple of shots that turned into a mini photoshoot. He captured some great pics of her. She told me she likes to do fun poses with her legs since they are so long and lean. I asked her about her makeup and she said she does it her self. It was looking pretty fab! She also showed me how to pose and use my arms. She is such a diva!

She loved my Cadillac SRX and took some fun pictures with the car. I would like to thank the staff at Sweet Auburn Bisto, FreddyO,Nicole Carter,Mark, Isis King and my friend Jayda Boo for a fun filled day of fellowship, laughs, poses and more! Meeting good people is always a joy! Keep up the good work Isis, I know you will go far!

I was invited out to review Sweet Auburn Bistro. I remember getting lost downtown and passed by this restaurant and I was thinking wow I would love to go in there one day. Well my marketing friend Tara Holland(Word of Mouth Atl) asked me if I had ever been there. I was telling her that I had just got lost in that area and would love to visit that place! I thought it was funny  she brought it up lol. We set up a meeting and I finally got a chance to visit it!

I love where it’s snuggled in the historic part of Atlanta. Right down the road is the Martin Luther King center and alot of other historical places. I love the name of the bistro too, Sweet Auburn. You get the sense that your in Harlem back in the 50′s. I also liked the cool art work on the walls by Corey Whitehead, and the jazz music that was playing.

I invited my other foodie friend Ms.Jayda Boo to tag along because she loves all things yummy like muah. I was very confused in what to order because the waitresses kept bringing out all this food that looked so scrumptious! We started out with some Sweet Auburn Chips that taste soo good! I finally focused and ordered the Barbecue Salmon Sandwich.

Jayda ordered the Blackened Salmon with greens that was topped off with a hot water cornbread and Tara got the Vine City Fried Chicken with spinach and mac n cheese. We all sampled each others food and I must say I fell in love with the bow tie mac n cheese! I have never eaten bow tie pasta but it was really, really good! My salmon sandwich was tasty and we were all pleased. The girls and I also shared a South Georgia Strawberry Shortcake that was simply divine! The prices aren’t bad either.

I talked to General Manager Aaron Buggs that said that he loved working at the restaurant. He said that,” there is all walks of life that come through Sweet Auburn Bistro and it’s a very diverse crowd”. They will be celebrating there one year anniversary on March 25th. Congrats to them!

I would like to thank Tara Holland for inviting me out to try this cool spot ,it was really great! Sheree Whitfield arrived in horse and carriage last nite at the W Hotel to show her new collection of ShebySheree(www.shebysheree.com). The fashion show was put together very well. Loved all the flowers and doves. It looked like a garden of eden. Here are some pics of the fashions from the show. I thought Lisa Wu Hartwell and Dwight looked very nice! Congrats to Sheree I wish her well with her new venture in the fashion world!

We were all pretty in pink last nite at Tous(www.tous.com) located at Lenox Mall in Atlanta,Ga. The owner Esther Carretero also a mom,has a really beautiful store! It was a Moms day event hosted by Atlanta’s fav Moms! We had a great time. I met some of the most fab women that Atlanta has to offer! Lots of people came out to shop,network and see some of the cutest items that Tous has. Nuvo(www.sparklingnuvo.com ) was the wine sponsor so was Dasani water (www.dasani.com) and I was feeling happy as a lamb. I dont drink but I do like Nuvo) lol.

The munchies were awesome from Sweet Auburn Bistro(www.sweetauburnbistroatlanta.com). We had chocolate covered strawberries,skewered chicken and more. Ina Saulsbery(www.thestarfiregroup.blogspot.com)  event planning company put on an amazing party, I must say! This young,beautiful,fashionista has been throwing parties for top celebs & others in and out of Atlanta since I can remember! She is very detailed oriented and if you guys ever want to throw a fab soiree, give her a jingle,she is fabulous! Trust me Ive been to alot of parties in my day, and I  have to say that her events are in my top 3! Two clicks of the heels for her!

All the ladies looked nice in their different shades of pink. I was shocked to learn that Chilli,former member of TLC and now spokesmodel for Dasani Water, doesnt like the color Pink…GASP! She told me,” I hate that color”. I almost had a heart attack on the carpet but held my composure lmao! I wont hold it against her because thats my girl and she is really a sweet young lady. Good luck to Chilli’s career! I want to thank Ina Saulsbery for asking me to be one of the hosts to such a lovely event.
