At the end of every year I like to post some of the “Best Of ” from 2011. It’s fun to go down memory lane and look through my archives of all the events I covered, invited out to or simply just went to hang out. This year I was recognized in my community, awarded several times and more! It has been a crazy year, I must say! I learned to pin on Pinterest, grow my followers on twitter and use tumblr! I have met some fabulous people and some folks that I was not too happy to meet. I have gained some true friends and comment stalkers as well lol. I feel as though I have grown a lot with my ventures. I got a chance to travel to Jamaica! The very first time I had EVER been out of the country! I not only visited Jamaica once but twice in a month, they loved me lol.

I enjoy my job and meeting new people, it makes me really happy! It makes my job so worth wild! People still ask me today what do you do actually? It’s hard to say but I work in media, I’m a fashion and beauty editor of a few magazines,blogger,red carpet correspondent and I’m all things social media, how about that lol. I have seen me look at hot mess and really nice and in between! My weight has fluctuated between a 12 and 14, I see it in my pics lol.All in all i must say its been a learning experience and I wouldn’t change anything in the world. I hope that my life,family and friends stay safe going into the new year! I love you guys and thanks so much for reading and hanging in there with me from the beginning of my lil blog five years ago! Victoria’s Secret private viewing of the V-Day Collection
Lisa Wu asked me to tag along with her to Phillips Arena to attend the Jay Z & Kanye West concert in Atlanta on Saturday night. I’m not a big fan of concerts but hey, it was Jay Z and Kanye West,why not! This was also the soft launch of Nubia Clothing new fashion line that is getting ready to take Atlanta by storm!
We made our way to the VIP area to our sky box seats where founders DeShai Cole and her hubby Timothy Davidson was throwing the birthday/launch party. Both are natives of Houston,Texas and are too sweet. They have now landed in Atlanta to introduce their fashion line Nubia Clothing Company that will now be headquartered here.
DeShai is the creative director of the company. She informed me that she started Nubia this year and they are expanding their brand. The brand is about self image, motivation and higher state of thinking. The mission is to spread H.I.V. awareness since one of Cole’s parents was infected with the disease. Each quarter, five percent of the company’s revenue is donated to organizations that provide education to the community about the virus. A few models had on some of the items. We also were treated with catered food, drinks and a small preview of the clothing.
As far as the “Watch The Throne” Jay Z & Kanye West concert it was amazeballs! I have NEVER been so hyped up in my life! There was no pre-acts both rappers just came out killing it! Jay Z opened the show then Kanye West hit the stage with him. I was dying at Kanye’s black leather kilt skirt with leggings to match, I can’t! They appeared on these risers across from each other that changed colors and went way up in the air! It appeared that they were in a rap battle with each other,It was hott! I was dizzy trying to snap photos and dance at the same time lol! We had some extremely good seats!
They both performed their greatest and latest hits and the crowd really loved them. The production of the show was absolutely breath taking, I’ve never seen so much high tech lasers, graphics and more at any concert. It was well worth the money for those who bought tickets to the sold out concert. Kanye said, thanks to the 15,000 fans that came out to the arena! They both did a great job! I would like to thank DeShai and her husband Timothy for the fabulous tickets and to Jamal & Sammie of Steps Events! I had a grand time and good luck to Nubie with their new business ventures! xoxo
I woke up still exhausted but headed downtown to the Livingston Restaurant & Bar for the Annual BET Hip Hop Awards. The event was in conjunction with Mr.Kawan Prather,Ghet-O-Vision Ent. & Courtney Sills.The breakfast was soo darn good, yum! S.T.E.P.S Events has very classy affairs and always throws a great party anyway. Many industry people came out to chow down, take pics at the step and repeat, network and check out Dr. Dre’s latest earphones which were now designed in a camouflage design!
Everyone was very excited to see them. Many celebs locally and from afar, stopped by for a bite to eat and enjoy the morning sunshine. I spotted Sheree Whitfield, Jazzy Pha, Mayor Kasim Reed, Rappers and more! Enjoy the pics and thank you to Jamal King and his staff for the personal invite and great goody bag that my son dismangled as soon as I walked in the door! #hotmess
