Over the weekend I got a chance to see some food network cooking stars! They chatted about their experiences being on tv and sharing their recipes. Paula Deen,The Neelys,Guy Fieri and Tyler Florence hit the stage and did an awesome job of sharing some great cooking tips and funny stories.
On saturday I got to watch Guy Fieri the Italian cutie, talk about his sons and his wife. He shared stories of growing up in an Italian family and his road trips. Guy host the Guys Big Bites and Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. He was really a cool dude and was very nice to take a pic with my daughter. He also mentioned he has a company called, Knuckle Sandwich. On his site he sells tatoo aprons and more(www.guyfieri.com).

Tyler Florence had the room smelling so good! He prepared a sirloin steak with homemade mashed potatoes, then a shrimp scampi dish! After he prepared the meals he gave away the food to different people in the audience. Guess who got the shrimp scampi meal? Thats right, my daughter Tyra! He told my daugther she was going to be the next supermodel. I think because of her name but it was so cute. I also learned from Tyler that you should dry your shrimp before you cook them, never knew that ha! My daughter was so embarrassed when she got the plate of food. I couldnt get a pic because I was stuck holding the gigantic plate, lol. People started coming over with forks to sample lol.(www.tylerflorence.com)

On sunday, I got to see Paula Deen live and in full affect! The Deen boys and Micheal her hubby were there too. Paula looked so sparkly in her powder blue color and those big blue eyes. She talked and joked while preparing a couple of meals as well.(www.pauladeen.com)

The show was very nice and educational.I got to meet some great vendors and taste their samples along the way. Kathy Shepherd owns (www.southernpoundcakes.com) and her poundcakes and cookies were delish! She is best known for making her famous Lemonade Cake!

I also ran into my friend Richard Blais(my twitter buddy and top chef reality star) who was there to promote his friends curry sauces called, (www.currysimple.com). I loved the curry over the rice,it was really good! Im also going to check out Richards new restaurant called,”Flipburger Boutique“(www.flipburgerboutique.com) he told me to stop by. I will let you know how it was.

I then saw my friends who have the best ginger cookies(www.susansnaps.com)! Susan and Laura are a mom and daughter duo who were on my show awhile ago. I love their packaging, too cute and the cookies are good!

I also sampled some fresh breads by “Breadwinner”(www.breadwinnerbreads.com) they have some funny names for their loafs like,Better than a bubble bath,Party at my place, and Papa dont peach lol. Too fun and yummy!

I saw some kewl utensils and pots & pans and all sorts of nic naks for your kitchen too! Deborah Chapman owns, www.crosbyandtaylor.com or www.tinwoodsman.com. She has the cutest pewter utensils and Paula Deen uses her items on her show. She has measuring cups, scoops, towel hangers, pottery and more, and made in the usa! Very chic very me.

Well I hope I made you hungry and I know Im on my way to the fridge for a late nite snack and have a sip of Paul’s www.ltblenders.com frozen margarita drink! Please check out their sites and I will talk to you guys a lil later! Alot of people attended the event. All the food network cooking stars signed books, autographs, had picnics, vip luncheons and more. I do plan on going again next year. Thanks to The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining show for allowing me media access, we had fun!
